My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set five years prior to Midoria's main series. The narrative centers around Koichi Haimawari, a young man who utilizes his Quirk to assist others, even though he is not a licensed Hero. Following an attack by a group of thugs on him and street performer Kazuho Haneyama, they are rescued by the formidable vigilante Knuckleduster, who enlists Koichi and Kazuho to become vigilantes also.
