In the year 3968 of the Oracle Era, the Emperor sent 14 young warriors on a mission to stop the invasion by the evil Wischtech, equipping them with holy weapons. Three lost their lives during the journey, and seven more chose to abandon the quest out of fear. Nevertheless, Ascheriit and three companions persevered and successfully completed the mission. It was then that the seven who abandoned their duty ambushed their former comrades and claimed the glory for themselves. When they returned home, they were celebrated as heroes and named the Seven Heroes, while the four who died were remembered as the Lances of Betrayal.
Twenty years later, Ascheriit, now disguised as the swordsman Köinzell, arrives in the border town of Liede Ferrem. Remembering the injustices of the past, he seeks revenge against the Seven Heroes, who have since become powerful nobles and warlords celebrated as saviors by the people.
