Oedo Fire Slayer: The Legend of Phoenix
Hikuidori: Ushuu Boro Tobi-gumi
Gengo Matsunaga, a former firefighter nicknamed "Fire Eater," retired after an incident and began living as a ronin. During this time, Samon Orishimo, an envoy from the Shinjo domain, approached Gengo with a request to rebuild their struggling firefighting team. Gengo accepted the role of team leader and, alongside Shinnosuke Torigoe, who was his equal in rank, started the rebuilding process.
The Shinjo domain's firefighting team faced challenges, including a lack of manpower and funds, with their equipment in tatters. This led the people of Edo to affectionately call them the Ragged Firefighters. Gengo managed to recruit Torajiro, a former sumo wrestler, Hikoya, an acrobat, and Seijuro Kaji, a scholar skilled in reading the wind, to help train the inexperienced firefighters.
As time went on, the Ragged Firefighters began to make a name for themselves in firefighting, and the people of Edo started to refer to them with warmth rather than mockery. However, a series of arson incidents driven by grudges and conspiracies erupts in Edo. Gengo and his team work tirelessly to extinguish fires while also investigating the truth behind these events, facing the flames head-on as they seek answers.
